Tuna & Avocado Poké Bowl

Proteins and (healthy) fats are equally as essential as vegetables and legumes are for our bodies.


Throughout my journey, an average 35-40% of my diet consisted of lean proteins. As I mentioned in my previous post, I follow a pescatarian diet, where a majority of my protein intake derives from fish. Consuming large amounts of protein in replacement of carbohydrates stimulates weight loss as it rapidly increases the breakdown of fat for energy.


The other 15-20% of my nutritional intake is comprised of healthy fats, such as avocados, olive oil, coconut oil, and a variety of nuts and seeds. Consuming healthy fats helps prevents increases in blood sugar levels, making this a necessary component while trying to lose weight.


That being said, this fresh tuna & avocado poké bowl is a staple in my weekly meal plan.
